Our Method

Making your matcha

The Miamie Method

SIFT
Add 2-3 grams of Miamie matcha to your bowl using a fine sifter. Then pour in 40ml of warm water, ideally around 80°C to preserve the delicate flavour. Or, for an even creamier finish, try using 40ml of cold milk instead of warm water.

WHISK
Using your Bamboo Chasen, very gently whisk in a zigzag motion for about 30 seconds until a soft froth forms on top.

POUR
Enjoy as is for a traditional experience, or top with 150ml milk and 10ml of sweetener of your choice (our favourite is organic maple syrup) for a creamy matcha latte. Or, for an iced latte moment, pour over ice and enjoy it chilled.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

ESSENTIAL SET

To keep your set in beautiful condition and ensure each piece lasts through many calming matcha rituals, please follow the care instructions below:

  • Matcha Bowl: Dishwasher safe, though hand washing may help preserve its finish over time.
  • Whisk Holder: Dishwasher safe, place it on the top rack of your dishwasher for easy cleaning.
  • Bamboo Scoop (Chashaku): Hand wash only. Gently rinse with warm water and dry immediately. Avoid soaking or placing in the dishwasher, as bamboo is delicate and porous.
  • Bamboo Whisk (Chasen): Please refer to the next slide for detailed care instructions on our Chasen.
  • Stainless Steel Sifter: Dishwasher safe, but we recommend hand washing to help maintain its fine mesh and shine.
  • Stainless Steel Scoop: We recommend hand washing to help maintain its shine.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

SHIN CHASEN

A shin chasen is a step above a standard chasen in both craftsmanship and performance. Handcrafted with precision, its finely carved, symmetrical tines create a smoother, more consistent froth, especially important for ceremonial-grade matcha. Its refined shape and balance make whisking easier and more effective, offering a noticeably better experience than a standard chasen. For those who value tradition and quality, the shin chasen is the superior choice.

Caring for your Bamboo Chasen
Before Use: Briefly soak your Chasen in warm water for 1–2 minutes before each use.

After Use: Rinse the Chasen gently under warm water immediately after use to remove any remaining matcha.  Gently shake to remove water, then place the Chasen with the tines facing down on a Chasen holder.

Additional Tips: Avoid storing your Chasen in a sealed container or drawer while it's still damp. Always hand rinse only

Storing your

MATCHA POWDER

To keep your matcha at its beautiful, vibrant best, always reseal the tin promptly after use. Prolonged exposure to air can cause it to oxidise, which may dull both its flavour and colour. For even longer-lasting freshness, you can store it in the fridge, just make sure the tin is tightly closed to protect it from moisture and odours.
